Description

AI and Technical Trades: Exploring Use Cases, Practising and Setting Limits

Explore what AI brings to technical trades and define the conditions for responsible use

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

In technical departments, AI arrives through the tools themselves: anomaly detection on networks, support for scheduling interventions, automated reading of drawings or field photographs. Technical staff hear about it without being able to separate operational reality from vendor promises.

This one-day awareness programme is designed for technical staff in public sector organisations. It presents the main families of tools, the use cases already proven on built assets, utility networks and roads, and then the ethical questions raised by automation: the role of the officer in the decision, monitoring and field data.

Learning objectives

  • Distinguish the main families of AI tools used in technical trades
  • Identify the technical tasks where a tool delivers genuine value
  • Use an assistant to draft an intervention report
  • Identify the risks attached to data collected in the field
  • Define the conditions for acceptable use within the department

What makes this programme different

Use cases are grounded in roads, utility networks and building maintenance work
Each participant tests a tool on a task from their own daily work
The ethical discussion results in written usage rules for the department

Programme
