Description

Banking Regulatory Reporting: Collecting Data, Controlling and Submitting

Produce reliable, fully traceable regulatory returns without rebuilding every reporting campaign in a spreadsheet

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Regulatory returns draw on data from accounting, credit and operational management systems. Definitions differ from one return to another, adjustments sit in personal files, and every campaign ends with last-minute corrections. Supervisory queries then arrive without anyone being able to trace where a given figure came from.

This short-format programme is designed for professionals already involved in producing regulatory returns. Participants place each submission in its intended purpose, build a control chain from source data through to transmission, then organise the audit trail and the handling of corrections.

Learning objectives

  • Position each regulatory return within its prudential or statistical purpose
  • Identify source data and the adjustments required for each submission
  • Build a consistency control plan across returns
  • Document the audit trail of a figure submitted to the supervisor
  • Handle correction requests and resubmissions

What makes this programme different

A production chain reconstructed from the general ledger through to submission
A consistency control plan transferable to your own institution
Resubmission handling worked through on real discrepancies
