Description
Cash Pooling: Scoping the Project, Selecting the Structure and Deploying Centralisation
Lead a treasury centralisation project from the scoping note through to the first cash sweep
- 0.43 days — 3 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Within a group, cash sits idle on some accounts while other subsidiaries pay overdraft interest. Centralisation comes back onto the agenda regularly but runs into the same obstacles: choice of structure, the diversity of banks and jurisdictions, reluctance among subsidiaries to give up control of their cash, and uncertainty about how to formalise intercompany arrangements.
These three hours are designed for practising treasury professionals. They follow the project through: preliminary diagnosis, choice between the main types of structure, the legal, tax and accounting points to secure, then operational roll-out with the banks and the subsidiaries.
Learning objectives
- Establish the preliminary diagnosis of the group's cash flows and balances
- Compare the main treasury centralisation structures
- Identify the legal, tax and accounting points to secure
- Build the roll-out plan with the banks and the subsidiaries
- Define the monitoring indicators for the arrangement once live
