Description
Chief Financial Officer: Managing Consolidation and Applying IFRS
Produce reliable consolidated accounts and explain the variances arising from IFRS
- 4 days — 28 h
- In-person or virtual
- All levels
- Up to 6 participants
Consolidated accounts depend on reporting packs submitted late by subsidiaries that do not apply the same rules. Adjustments are reworked every year with no record of previous decisions, and the differences with statutory accounts remain difficult to explain to executive management.
Four days devoted to consolidation and the international reporting framework. The programme covers scope and consolidation methods, elimination entries, the most frequent IFRS adjustments, business combinations, the presentation of consolidated statements and the organisation of the reporting process with subsidiaries.
Learning objectives
- Determine the consolidation scope and the applicable method
- Perform the elimination of intra-group flows
- Apply the most frequent IFRS adjustments
- Handle goodwill and its monitoring over time
- Present and comment on consolidated financial statements
