Description
Communication Materials: Clarifying the Message, Prioritising Information and Distributing
Two days to rework brochures, reports and digital materials so that they are read from start to finish
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Organisations produce brochures, reports and web pages in which the main message is impossible to find. Every department adds its own paragraph, visuals illustrate without informing, and the reader closes the document before reaching the page that matters. Redesigns are launched out of habit rather than on the basis of evidence.
This 14-hour programme focuses on the effectiveness of corporate communication materials. Participants assess their existing materials, reformulate the core message, review the information hierarchy and the relationship between text and image, then organise the production chain and distribution. Each participant works on a document from their own organisation.
Learning objectives
- Assess an existing document against its target audience and its purpose
- Reformulate the core message of a document in a single sentence
- Prioritise information across a page or a double-page spread
- Combine text and image so that the visual carries information
- Organise the production chain and the distribution of a document
