Description

Engaging Stakeholders: Convincing, Mobilising and Embedding Compliance

Securing genuine business buy-in for the compliance framework rather than imposing it through rules alone

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

A well-designed compliance programme often fails at the deployment stage. Operational teams see it as an additional constraint while senior management expects visible results. The compliance officer is left alone to carry rules they have no real authority to impose, yet depends on those same teams for the information they need.

This short format treats stakeholder engagement as an influencing skill. You map the players involved, then build messages tailored to each of them. The role-play exercises reproduce the most common forms of resistance encountered by compliance teams.

Learning objectives

  • Map the stakeholders of a compliance framework and their respective interests
  • Adapt your arguments to the function and seniority of the person you are addressing
  • Address the recurring objections raised against compliance requirements
  • Secure formalised commitment from compliance contacts in the business
  • Measure genuine buy-in beyond self-declared indicators
