Description
Equity Structured Products: Breaking Them Down, Pricing Them and Explaining the Risks
Understand how an equity structured product is built priced and distributed
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
A structured product presents itself as a simple promise of conditional return. Behind the brochure lies the assembly of a bond component and one or more option components. The client remembers the coupon and forgets the barrier. Disappointment then arrives at maturity.
These two days focus on equity-linked structured products rather than on derivative instruments taken in isolation. You break a product down into its elementary building blocks and identify the parameters that drive price and margin. You analyse how the product behaves under several market scenarios. Finally you formulate a risk presentation that a non-specialist client can genuinely understand.
Learning objectives
- Break a structured product down into its bond component and its option component
- Identify the market parameters that determine the price of the product
- Analyse how a product behaves under several underlying asset scenarios
- Distinguish between capital protection mechanisms and their limits
- Present the risks of a structured product to a non-specialist client
