Description

GEO: Structuring Pages, Opening Access to Crawlers and Staying Ahead of Competitors

Being absent from answers generated by conversational engines while your competitors appear in them

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Answers generated by conversational engines point to only a handful of sources. A website that is poorly exposed on a technical level remains invisible to the crawlers that feed them: content rendered only in the browser, missing markup, slow or blocked pages. Search-driven traffic declines without anyone identifying where the loss comes from.

This three-hour virtual session addresses the technical side of GEO. Participants check whether their pages are accessible to generative engine crawlers, correct the markup that allows an answer to be extracted, and benchmark their exposure against that of their direct competitors.

Learning objectives

  • Check that a website is accessible to generative engine crawlers
  • Correct the semantic markup that enables answer extraction
  • Structure a page so that an extract can be cited
  • Measure brand presence in generated answers
  • Benchmark technical exposure against direct competitors

What makes this programme different

Each participant's website is examined in detail during the session
Technical fixes are prioritised by effort and expected gain
A benchmarking grid covering three competitors is built during the session

Programme

  • Stating the answer directly at the start of the content
  • Reference pages and internal linking
