Description

Health, Safety and Workplace Wellbeing Officer: Structuring, Driving and Evaluating the Approach

Five days to take up the officer role and embed an approach that goes well beyond basic compliance

  • 5 days — 35 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

An employee is appointed health and safety officer with no roadmap and no dedicated time. They are called upon for risk assessment, accidents, tensions within a department and the redesign of a workstation. They know neither where their remit ends nor who does what between senior management, line managers, the occupational health provider and workforce representatives.

These 35 hours build the role end to end. The officer positions their remit among the other stakeholders, carries out a risk assessment on one work unit, investigates an accident down to its root causes, addresses the organisational drivers of psychosocial risk, then builds and defends an action plan supported by monitoring indicators.

Learning objectives

  • Position the officer's role among internal and external prevention stakeholders
  • Carry out an occupational risk assessment for a work unit
  • Contribute to updating the organisation's risk assessment record
  • Investigate a workplace accident down to its organisational root causes
  • Build a prioritised and monitored prevention action plan
  • Report on the approach to senior management and to employees

What makes this programme different
