Description
IFRS 15: Resolving Complex Cases, Allocating the Price and Justifying Your Positions
Reach a decision on contracts where the number of performance obligations and the timing of transfer remain debatable
- 0.43 days — 3 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
The revenue recognition model runs smoothly on a straightforward contract. It becomes debatable as soon as you have to isolate the distinct obligations within a project contract, estimate variable consideration or decide whether revenue is recognised over time. Positions then vary from one group entity to another.
This three-hour virtual workshop is designed for practitioners already familiar with IFRS 15. Participants work through contested situations, identify the performance obligations in a composite contract, allocate the transaction price and draft the position paper that will support their conclusion before the auditor.
Learning objectives
- Identify the distinct performance obligations within a composite contract
- Estimate variable consideration and assess the constraint applied to it
- Allocate the transaction price across several obligations
- Justify recognition over time or at a point in time
- Draft a technical position paper intended for the auditor
