Description

IFRS Reporting: Adjusting Statutory Accounts, Documenting and Submitting the Group Reporting Pack

Produce subsidiary reporting that meets group requirements without rebuilding your accounts

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

The subsidiary keeps its books under local accounting rules and must then deliver IFRS reporting to the group within a short deadline. Adjustments are rebuilt at every closing with no record of previous decisions, requests from the consolidation team arrive at the end of the process, and the gaps between the reporting pack and the statutory accounts are difficult to explain.

These two days bring structure to the exercise. Participants identify the differences between the local framework and IFRS, pinpoint the recurring adjustments applicable to their subsidiary, organise the collection of information required for the notes, and build documentation that keeps differences traceable from one closing to the next.

Learning objectives

  • Position the logic of the IFRS framework in relation to local accounting rules
  • Identify the differences applicable to your subsidiary's activity
  • Perform the recurring adjustments required for the transition to IFRS
  • Organise the collection of the information requested by the consolidation team
  • Document your adjustments to ensure traceability from one closing to the next

What makes this programme different

Adjustments are worked through on a single set of statutory accounts followed from start to finish
An adjustment documentation sheet is produced and can be reused at closing
Typical requests from a consolidation department provide the common thread
