Description

Meeting Facilitation: Preparing, Leading and Closing on Clear Decisions

Hold fewer meetings and make sure those that remain end with decisions

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Too many meetings, called without a clear objective, where the group repeats last week's round table and nobody leaves with an identified task. Time spent in the meeting room is rarely counted, yet it weighs on everyone's workload.

Two days to take meeting facilitation from both ends: decide whether the meeting is necessary and prepare it, then lead it by managing speaking time and close it with decisions that are recorded. Facilitation sequences are practised in real conditions.

Learning objectives

  • Decide whether a meeting is necessary and choose the right format
  • Prepare a timed agenda with one objective per item
  • Facilitate by managing speaking time and refocusing digressions
  • Close each item with a decision, an action and an owner
  • Write a decision record circulated promptly after the meeting

What makes this programme different

Facilitation of real sequences observed by the group using a feedback grid
A review of each participant's recurring meetings carried out during the programme
Agenda and decision-record templates built and tested in session
