On-the-Job Skills Transfer: Prepare the Task, Demonstrate and Have It Practised

One hour to structure the transfer of a professional technique directly at the workstation

An experienced colleague is asked to show the new joiner how it is done. The task is performed at full speed, explained in a few words, and the new joiner does not dare admit that nothing was followed. A few days later the error shows up in production and everyone concludes that the person simply was not paying attention.

This one-hour virtual session focuses on the act of coaching at the workstation itself. Participants learn to prepare the sequence, deliver a commentated demonstration, then have the task practised under observation before checking that it has genuinely been acquired. Designing and running a complete workplace-based learning scheme is covered in a separate programme.

Practical details

Before the programme
Online positioning questionnaire. Your development objectives are shared with the trainer, who tailors the practical case studies to your context.
Teaching methods
Theoretical input, workshops and practical case studies. Digital course materials and method sheets provided.
Assessment
Multiple-choice tests and role-play exercises. Assessment of learning at the start and end of the programme, with immediate and 60-day follow-up evaluations.
After the programme
One year of access to the e-learning platform. Self-assessment of the skills acquired and a 30-day follow-up session with your trainer.
