Description
Process Owner: Mapping, Indicator-Based Steering and Improvement
Take ownership of a cross-functional process and improve it with indicators that are genuinely useful
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Being appointed process owner often comes without an instruction manual: a process sheet to keep up to date, inherited indicators nobody looks at, and limited authority over contributors who do not report to you. The process runs on habit, issues are settled in corridor conversations, and the annual review is prepared the night before.
Two days to establish the role: process scope and interfaces, inputs and outputs, selecting indicators that trigger decisions, running the process review and addressing performance gaps. Each participant works on the process they are responsible for.
Learning objectives
- Define the scope of a process and its interfaces with other processes
- Formalise inputs, activities and expected deliverables
- Build a short set of indicators linked to process objectives
- Run a process review and formalise its decisions
- Address identified gaps and monitor improvement actions
