Description

Regulated Industrial Facilities Level 1: Classification, Permit Files and Regulator Dialogue

Build practical command of regulated industrial facility requirements on an industrial or logistics site

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A site manager discovers that the operation falls within the scope of regulated industrial facilities. Neither the applicable risk category nor the real obligations set out in the environmental permit are clear. A workshop extension is under consideration without any assessment of its effect on the classification. The regulator's inspection visit is approaching and the administrative file remains incomplete.

Two days in-person or virtual to build practical command of this framework. You learn to classify a facility on the basis of its actual activities. You follow a file from application through to the issued permit. You are able to read the applicable conditions and organise the evidence of compliance expected by the inspectors.

Learning objectives

  • Classify a facility based on a description of its activities and capacities
  • Distinguish the applicable regulatory tiers and the obligations arising from each
  • Assemble the documents required for a permit application and monitor its review
  • Read an environmental permit and extract the operational obligations it contains
  • Prepare for an inspection visit and organise evidence of compliance

What makes this programme different

A classification exercise carried out on the real activities brought by participants
Guided reading of a complete environmental permit from preamble to annexes
A model compliance file built during the programme
