Description

Responsible Leadership: Living Your Commitments, Deciding and Bringing Your Team With You

Two days to align your day-to-day management practices with the commitments your organisation states publicly

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Organisations set out commitments on workplace wellbeing, inclusion and environmental impact. On the ground, managers have to translate them into concrete decisions, often under pressure of deadlines and results. The gap between stated intentions and actual practice is eventually noticed by teams.

This 14-hour programme focuses on the behaviours of the responsible manager. Participants clarify their commitments, examine the trade-offs they actually make, work on leading by example, listening and transparency, then prepare to carry difficult decisions in front of a team. The work is based on situations brought by the participants themselves.

Learning objectives

  • Articulate the commitments you intend to uphold in your management role
  • Identify the gaps between your stated commitments and the trade-offs you actually make
  • Make a trade-off while making the criteria applied explicit
  • Receive disagreement expressed by a member of your team
  • Announce a difficult decision without disguising it
  • Commit to two changes in practice and organise their follow-up

What makes this programme different

A review of the trade-offs each participant has genuinely made in recent months
Difficult decision announcements prepared and then delivered in front of the group
A formalised commitment to practice, reviewed by peers
