Description

Supplier Assessment: Segmenting, Questioning and Monitoring High-Risk Third Parties

Assess suppliers on ethical, social and environmental risks without slowing down procurement

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Supplier questionnaires pile up and no one quite knows what to do with the answers. Buyers see assessment as an obstacle, while suppliers reply in standardised terms. Meanwhile, the real exposure sits with a handful of third parties that are rarely flagged as sensitive.

This short format builds an assessment framework that is proportionate to risk rather than uniform. You segment the supplier panel, then design usable questionnaires and action plans that are actually monitored. The exercises are based on anonymised supplier responses.

Learning objectives

  • Segment the supplier panel according to risk level
  • Build an assessment questionnaire that buyers can actually use
  • Analyse responses and identify items that lack credibility
  • Define corrective action plans and monitor their execution
  • Embed assessment within the procurement process without extending lead times
