Description

Sustainability Reporting Standards: Analysing, Structuring and Publishing the Report

Organise the production of the sustainability report, from the double materiality assessment through to publication

  • 3 days — 21 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Producing a sustainability report aligned with recognised international standards involves far more than compiling environmental data. The double materiality assessment must be properly argued, and the underlying data usually comes from systems that were never designed to be reviewed by a third party.

This three-day programme supports practical implementation. It covers the architecture of sustainability disclosure standards, the conduct of the double materiality assessment, the identification of the information to be disclosed, and the organisation of data collection and internal control. The session closes on drafting the report and preparing for assurance work.

Learning objectives

  • Position sustainability disclosure standards and their link with the management report
  • Conduct a double materiality assessment and document its conclusions
  • Identify the information to be disclosed in light of the material topics retained
  • Organise data collection across entities and corporate functions
  • Put in place the internal controls expected over sustainability data
  • Draft the report and prepare for external assurance work

What makes this programme different

The double materiality assessment is carried out during the session on an industrial company case
A data collection matrix is built with named owners and embedded controls
Discussion points with the external assurance provider are anticipated from the weaknesses identified
