Description

Word, Excel and PowerPoint: Writing, Calculating and Presenting Day to Day

Cover everyday office software needs with the three applications used daily at work

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Administrative roles and support functions use a word processor, a spreadsheet and a presentation tool every day, most often having learned them on the job. Documents look different from one person to the next, calculations are redone by hand and slide decks are overloaded. The time lost is spread across every task without ever being identified.

These two days cover the genuinely useful functions of the three applications: writing and laying out a document, building a calculation table, presenting data graphically and creating a readable slide deck. A single professional case file runs through the programme from one application to the next.

Learning objectives

  • Write and lay out a professional document in Word
  • Build a calculation table and simple formulas in Excel
  • Present data through a readable chart
  • Design a structured and uncluttered slide deck in PowerPoint
  • Transfer content from one application to another without losing formatting

What makes this programme different

Rarely useful functions are set aside to focus on everyday actions
Each half-day ends with a finished, usable deliverable
