Description

Work-Life Balance: Setting Priorities, Organising and Holding the Line

Two days to set your priorities and build workable boundaries between work and personal life

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Work messages arrive in the evening, family commitments spill into the working day, and the two worlds overlap without any clear rule. Remote and hybrid working has removed the physical boundaries that once separated these two spheres.

This 14-hour programme does not offer a theoretical split of your time. It helps each participant clarify their priorities for the current period, identify the mechanisms that cause work to overflow, set explicit rules with colleagues and family, and then hold those rules over time despite the inevitable exceptions.

Learning objectives

  • Clarify your personal and professional priorities for the current period
  • Identify the mechanisms that cause work to spill into personal life
  • Define explicit availability rules with your professional environment
  • Organise your days while protecting non-negotiable time
  • Renegotiate a workload that has become incompatible with your commitments

What makes this programme different

Practical work on the availability rules to set with colleagues and management
Remote working and off-hours situations addressed specifically
A personal set of rules formalised and then tested through role-play
