Description

Year-End Closing: Cycle Reviews, Sign-Off and Statutory Reporting Pack

Secure inventory and cut-off work, cycle-by-cycle account reviews and the production of financial statements

  • 3 days — 21 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • All levels
  • Up to 6 participants

The closing period concentrates the difficulties: imprecise cut-off of transactions, provisions open to challenge, poorly tracked fixed assets, gaps between the accounting records and tax filings. Delays build up and corrections arrive after the accounts have been submitted.

Three days structured around the way a closing actually unfolds: preparation and the review file, inventory work, treatment of sensitive accounting matters, the move from accounting profit to taxable income, and the preparation of financial statements. The programme addresses the year-end sign-off, not day-to-day bookkeeping entries.

Learning objectives

  • Organise the closing through a reverse schedule and a structured review file
  • Carry out inventory work and cut-off controls between financial years
  • Handle sensitive matters relating to fixed assets, inventories and provisions
  • Move from accounting profit to taxable income
  • Prepare the financial statements and support the notes to the accounts

What makes this programme different

A complete review file is built cycle by cycle
The points most often disputed with the auditor are worked through in session
The move from accounting profit to taxable income is applied to a full case
