Description

Younger Generations: Understanding Their Expectations, Onboarding and Retention

One day to onboard young recruits successfully and reduce departures in the first months

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Younger employees arrive with explicit expectations about purpose, pace and the feedback they will receive. They ask questions that established teams sometimes consider out of place. Some leave after a few months without the manager having seen the signal coming.

One day to lead employees at the start of their career. You separate the expectations linked to entering working life from the traits commonly attributed to a generation. You design an onboarding journey that provides clear reference points quickly and you adjust the frequency of your feedback.

Learning objectives

  • Distinguish expectations linked to entering working life from generational stereotypes
  • Design an onboarding journey that provides clear reference points from the first weeks
  • Adapt the frequency and format of feedback to an employee at the start of their career
  • Explain a decision or a constraint to an employee who questions it
  • Identify the signals that precede a resignation and open the discussion in time

What makes this programme different

An onboarding journey for the first weeks built role by role
Practice on the questions young recruits actually ask
A signal-spotting grid for resignation risk usable as soon as you return to work
