Description

Project Delivery: Scoping, Planning and Steering Through to Closure

Scope, plan and steer a project through to closure without ever losing sight of deadlines

  • 3 days — 21 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Running a project without proper preparation tends to produce the same difficulties: a scope that widens at every meeting, estimates given off the cuff, a team that is not dedicated to the work and a sponsor who only appears when a crisis hits. The project eventually ends, but nobody really knows what it cost.

Three days to work through the method from scoping to closure, applied to a project brought by each participant. The session focuses on the approach and remains independent of any planning software.

Learning objectives

  • Draft a project charter that defines the project scope
  • Build a schedule based on a work breakdown into packages
  • Identify risks and define the associated responses
  • Lead a project team and a steering committee
  • Conduct project closure and the post-project review

What makes this programme different

Each participant works through their own project from scoping to final review
The documents produced during the session can be reused directly
The approach is taught independently of any planning software
