Description

Care-Based Management: Listening to Needs, Taking Action and Transforming Culture

Move managerial practice towards concrete attention to working conditions

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Many organisations claim to put people first in ways their teams never experience in day-to-day work. Internal surveys follow one another, action plans remain at the level of intentions, and the gap between the message and the lived reality eventually erodes the engagement of employees and managers alike.

These two days treat care as a transformation of practices rather than an individual stance. You identify the features of work organisation that undermine engagement, involve teams in the diagnosis, build a transformation plan and monitor its effects.

Learning objectives

  • Position the care approach in relation to other managerial approaches
  • Identify the features of work organisation that undermine engagement
  • Involve teams in the diagnosis of their own working conditions
  • Build a plan to transform managerial practices
  • Monitor the effects of the actions taken with teams
  • Define the limits of the manager's role when facing personal situations

What makes this programme different

The diagnosis is conducted on the actual scope of a volunteer participant and presented to the group
Proposed actions are filtered according to their cost and expected effect before being retained
The distinction between the manager's remit and that of a health professional is worked through on real cases
