Description

Financial Products: Decoding Features, Comparing and Advising

Read a financial product's documentation and explain the real risk to the client within minutes

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A client is comparing a capital-guaranteed fund, an equity fund and a structured product using three documents that present neither fees nor risk in the same way. The adviser must reduce these differing promises to common criteria, explain what could cause a loss of capital and justify the recommendation in writing.

This one-day programme breaks down each major product family using the same grid: performance driver, nature of risk, liquidity, fees and tax treatment. Participants practise presenting these elements in language that a non-specialist saver can understand.

  • Distinguish market risk credit risk and liquidity risk
