Description
Advanced Management Practice: Making Judgement Calls, Addressing Behaviour and Securing Decisions
Handle the management situations that cannot be resolved with the tools learned in foundation training
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
After a few years in a management role, the difficulties that remain are rarely questions of method. They are trade-offs between conflicting requests, conversations that keep being postponed, tensions that have settled into the team and decisions that must be taken without all the useful information at hand.
These two days work through those situations one by one. You structure a decision in an uncertain environment, conduct the most sensitive conversations, restore balance in a team affected by long-standing tensions and reorganise your time around your true management priorities.
Learning objectives
- Structure a management decision when the available information is incomplete
- Conduct a difficult conversation while keeping to the objective set at the outset
- Arbitrate between conflicting requests and explain the trade-off chosen
- Restore balance in a team affected by entrenched tensions
- Organise your management time around your leadership priorities
- Analyse a management setback in order to draw practical adjustments from it
