Description

HR Audit: Framing the Approach, Assessing Practices and Issuing Recommendations

Test the HR function against the facts and turn findings into a credible improvement plan

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

The HR function is often judged on impressions: dissatisfied managers, turnaround times felt to be too long, procedures that nobody really follows. Without a structured approach, findings remain open to challenge and improvement decisions are driven by whoever complains loudest.

Two days to learn how to frame an HR audit, select what to examine, gather evidence and present conclusions that stand up to scrutiny. Each participant builds an audit grid for an HR process of their choice.

Learning objectives

  • Frame an HR audit and define its scope
  • Build an analysis grid suited to the process under review
  • Gather evidence through interviews and documentary review
  • Formulate substantiated and prioritised findings
  • Build an improvement plan with owners and deadlines

What makes this programme different

Each participant leaves with an audit grid ready to apply to a process in their own organisation
Audit interviews are conducted in pairs and then reviewed in collective analysis
The debrief is developed in both its written and its spoken form
