Description

Disability Inclusion Officer: Framing the Role, Supporting Cases and Driving Awareness

Move beyond a role that exists only on paper and turn it into a recognised, actively used point of contact within the organisation

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

The appointment has been made but the remit remains vague. The disability inclusion officer receives few requests. Situations only come to light once they are already deadlocked, and it is unclear what position to take between the employee, the line manager and the occupational health provider. Without a clear framework, the role is reduced to a line on the organisation chart.

A short programme, delivered in person or virtually, to define the scope of the role and the first reflexes to adopt. You set out what the officer handles directly and what is referred elsewhere. You build the case-handling pathway from the initial alert through to follow-up. You map the partners to involve and prepare the actions that make the role visible.

Learning objectives

  • Define the scope of the disability inclusion officer role and its limits
  • Structure the handling of an individual case from initial alert through to follow-up
  • Identify the internal and external partners to involve depending on the situation
  • Conduct an interview with an employee who is hesitant about disclosing a condition or requesting support
  • Build an internal communication action plan for the role

What makes this programme different

A role description drafted during the session and ready to discuss with your management
A case-handling pathway setting out each step and the people to involve
Real situations brought by participants and analysed collectively
