Description

AI-Assisted Learning and Development Plan: Analyse, Build and Steer

Use artificial intelligence to make sense of training needs and track the plan while keeping full control over trade-offs

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Every year, the training needs collection exercise produces spreadsheets that are hard to work with. Inconsistent requests, duplicates, genuine needs buried among individual wishes: the time spent formatting data leaves little room for analysis, and decisions end up being made on instinct.

Two days to embed generative artificial intelligence tools into the design and monitoring of the learning plan: structuring needs, drafting specifications, comparing provider proposals and tracking indicators. Every output produced by the tool is verified by participants.

Learning objectives

  • Identify the learning plan management tasks where artificial intelligence delivers real gains
  • Write precise instructions to obtain usable outputs
  • Structure and analyse a training needs collection using generative tools
  • Draft training specifications and a provider comparison grid
  • Review the outputs obtained and correct misinterpretations
  • Govern the use of these tools in line with data protection requirements

What makes this programme different

Exercises are based on a real needs collection brought by participants
Every tool output is subject to a documented human review
A reusable prompt library is built during the session

Programme

1Framing the use of AI in the learning function

Choosing where the tool adds value

  • Tasks that can be automated and tasks to retain
  • How generative tools work and where they fall short
  • Personal data and information that must not be shared
  • Usage rules to set within the team

2Analysing needs

Turning a raw collection into usable data

  • Structuring requests from appraisals and line managers
  • Detecting duplicates and grouping by skill
  • Cross-referencing with the organisation's strategic priorities
  • Presenting prioritised needs to management

3Building the plan and approaching providers

Writing quickly and accurately

  • Drafting specifications from a stated need
  • Generating alternative learning paths and delivery formats
  • Comparison grid for the proposals received
  • Checking the outputs produced before circulation

4Steering and reporting

Monitoring the plan throughout the year

  • Building a monitoring dashboard
  • Analysing variances between the planned and the delivered
  • Preparing material for discussions with employee representatives
  • Writing the annual report and its appendices

Who is it for
