Description
Workplace Accidents: Handling Cases, Challenging Decisions and Reducing Costs
Take back control of the workplace accident handling process and of its financial consequences
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
An injury report is filed before the circumstances have been verified. Written observations are not submitted within the useful time frame and the file is never reviewed before the decision to accept the claim. The company then discovers the effect on its insurance premium and on its claims record. It cannot always trace the increase back to the specific incidents that caused it.
This short programme works through the full handling chain of a workplace accident file. It covers fact-finding at the scene, drafting substantiated written observations and following up the review process. It also addresses how to read the notifications received, the available challenge routes and the link between accident frequency and the cost ultimately borne by the employer.
Learning objectives
- Gather and document the circumstances of an accident as soon as it occurs
- Draft substantiated written observations within the useful time frame
- Follow up the review of the file and make use of the documents disclosed
- Identify decisions that can be challenged and pursue the appropriate route
- Link the establishment's accident record to the cost borne by the employer
