Description

Facilities Manager: Steering Services, Measuring and Improving Performance

Moving from firefighting to measured management of the workplace

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

The role absorbs everything: a chiller breakdown, a team relocation, a cleaning contract up for renewal, a question from the executive team on the cost per workstation. Days fill up with urgent issues, service providers are judged on perception alone, and it becomes difficult to demonstrate what the function actually contributes to the business.

These two days give the function a clear structure. Participants clarify their scope and service catalogue, learn to steer providers through verifiable service commitments, build a budget and cost indicators, then prepare workplace projects while involving occupants in the decisions.

Learning objectives

  • Define the scope and service catalogue of the function
  • Steer service providers on the basis of verifiable service commitments
  • Build and monitor the workplace budget
  • Measure service performance through shared indicators
  • Lead a workplace fit-out project while involving occupants

What makes this programme different

The service catalogue is drafted and then tested against the real expectations of occupants
A provider evaluation grid is built and applied to an existing contract
The budget is broken down to cost per workstation
