Description
Scrum Master: Facilitating Events, Removing Impediments and Certifying Your Skills
Holding the Scrum Master role day to day with a team under pressure and impatient management
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Many teams describe themselves as agile yet run sprints that overflow, dailies that turn into status reporting and retrospectives that change nothing. The Scrum Master appointed for want of a better option ends up acting as a disguised project manager, without removing real impediments or protecting the team's capacity.
These two days establish the role as defined in the Scrum framework, then test it against concrete situations. Facilitating the events, managing flow, addressing dysfunctions and working with the Product Owner and management are covered in turn. The programme prepares participants for the certification examination taken at the end of the session.
Learning objectives
- Explain the roles, events and artefacts of the Scrum framework
- Facilitate each sprint event with a clear objective
- Run a retrospective that leads to actions actually followed up
- Identify and remove the impediments slowing the team down
- Measure the team's capacity and predictability
- Prepare for the Scrum Master certification examination
