Description

Caring for a Relative: Organising Daily Life, Protecting Your Balance and Managing Work

Two days to sustain your role alongside a relative without sacrificing your health or your career

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Supporting a relative who is ill, living with a disability or dependent arrives without warning in an already full life. Appointments, administrative steps and constant worry fill the evenings and eat into working days. Many carry this alone and say nothing, until exhaustion sets in.

This 14-hour programme is designed for employees supporting a relative. It helps you organise daily life, identify the people and services you can call on, set limits within the caring relationship and reconcile this role with your professional activity. Exchanges between participants play a central part throughout.

Learning objectives

  • Describe your situation as a carer and the real load it represents
  • Identify the professionals and sources of support available around your relative
  • Organise daily life to reduce repeated emergencies
  • Set limits within the caring relationship without guilt
  • Identify the working arrangements that can be discussed with your employer
  • Recognise your own warning signs of exhaustion
