Description

Daily Pressure: Spotting the Signals, Anticipating Peaks and Regaining Control

Move from constantly reacting to urgent demands to anticipating periods of heavy workload

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Workload rarely arrives evenly. It builds up in waves, often predictable ones, and turns into tension because nothing has been anticipated: no slack in the schedule, no alert raised in time, no fallback option. Pressure is then simply absorbed, and everyone keeps going until something gives.

Two days to identify your own warning signals, map the predictable workload peaks in your role, prepare responses before the situation tightens, and learn to raise alerts and negotiate ahead of time rather than in crisis mode.

Learning objectives

  • Recognise your personal warning signals of rising tension
  • Map the predictable workload peaks in your activity
  • Prepare practical responses before the pressure period begins
  • Raise workload overload with management using factual evidence
  • Put in place recovery practices that can be applied during the working day

What makes this programme different

An annual map of your own workload periods built during the session
Practice in raising a quantified alert with management rather than reporting exhaustion after the fact
Recovery techniques tested in workshop rather than merely described
