Description

AML/CFT: Collecting, Verifying and Updating KYC for Legal Entities

Building a robust onboarding file when ownership structures are complex

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Onboarding a legal entity tends to run into the same obstacles. Constitutional documents are out of date, the ownership chain runs through several layers, and the person effectively directing the business differs from the declared representative. The file is opened with documents missing, and the gap surfaces at the time of review.

This three-hour session works through KYC for legal entities step by step. It covers the documents to be collected according to the entity's legal form, verification of actual business activity, tracing ownership up to the ultimate beneficial owners, and updating the file during the course of the relationship. Each participant leaves with a collection checklist ready for use.

Learning objectives

  • Collect the identification documents required according to the client's legal form
  • Verify consistency between declared activity and expected transactions
  • Trace the ownership chain up to the ultimate beneficial owners
  • Classify the business relationship according to its risk level
  • Trigger the file update at the right moment

What makes this programme different
