Description
AML Framework: Assessing Risk, Detecting and Reporting
Run an anti-money laundering framework that genuinely detects atypical transactions
- 1 day — 7 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Every regulated entity in the UAE operates an anti-money laundering framework. It generates alerts, due diligence files and reports. The real question is how effective it is: risk classifications that are rarely refreshed, due diligence applied uniformly to every client, alerts cleared in bulk.
This one-day programme is designed for professionals already working in compliance. It revisits the full logic of the framework: risk classification, proportionate due diligence, beneficial ownership, detection of atypical transactions and suspicious transaction reporting. Participants investigate live-style alert files and draft a fully reasoned report.
Learning objectives
- Build a risk classification aligned with the entity's actual business activity
- Calibrate due diligence measures to the level of risk identified
- Identify the beneficial owner of a complex business relationship
- Analyse an alert and characterise what makes a transaction atypical
- Draft a suspicious transaction report supported by verifiable evidence
- Organise the audit trail of due diligence work and record retention
