Description

Building a Change-Ready Team Culture: Diagnose, Experiment and Embed Habits

One day to establish team habits that make the next change far less costly

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Every new project replays the same scene: the same reservations, the same slow uptake, the same additional load on the manager. The issue is rarely the project itself, but the absence of shared team habits that allow a group to absorb something new without everything grinding to a halt.

A one-day workshop focused on your own team: identifying what slows adaptation, selecting two or three realistic rituals and preparing their roll-out. Unlike a project management course, the work addresses how the team operates day to day between two changes.

Learning objectives

  • Assess your team's capacity to adapt
  • Identify the collective habits that slow uptake
  • Select team rituals that encourage experimentation
  • Secure the right to try and the way errors are handled
  • Plan the roll-out of the chosen rituals

What makes this programme different

The day focuses on the participant's real team rather than a textbook case
Two rituals are selected and prepared through to their first facilitation
A remote follow-up point is formalised at the end of the workshop

Programme

1Diagnosing Your Team

Observing how the team absorbs change

  • Retrace the most recent changes experienced by the team
  • Identify recurring reactions and their causes
  • Pinpoint the habits that slow uptake
  • Locate key supporters and points of leverage

2Establishing Rituals

Creating the conditions for experimentation

  • Open short dedicated slots for trials
  • Allow room for error while clarifying what remains non-negotiable
  • Organise a debrief after each trial
  • Make team-generated improvements visible

3Sustaining the Effort

Moving from intention to habit

  • Anticipate the loss of momentum after the first few weeks
  • Involve the more reluctant members without forcing them
  • Adjust the rituals in light of early results
  • Report outcomes to your own management line
