Description
Business Writing: Structuring Your Messages, Clarifying Your Style and Persuading
Produce emails, memos and minutes that are read, understood and acted upon
- 3 days — 21 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
A poorly constructed business document costs everyone time. The reader searches for what is expected of them, follows up to obtain a missing detail and postpones the reply. The causes are almost always the same: an objective that was never stated, a structure that follows the chronology of the file rather than the logic of the reader, and long sentences in which the request simply dissolves.
Three days to overhaul everyday written output. Participants work on their own documents and leave with ready-to-use structures for emails, memos and minutes, together with a proofreading method.
Learning objectives
- Identify the reader and the objective before writing
- Build a structure suited to the type of document and the request
- Write effective emails, memos and minutes
- Clarify your style and streamline your sentences
- Adapt tone and wording to the situation and the recipient
- Proofread methodically to correct both substance and form
