Description

Change Management in Accounting: Framing, Engaging Teams and Embedding New Practices

Gaining acceptance for a new tool or process from teams already under closing pressure

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Invoice digitalisation, a change of accounting system or the centralisation of a process: the finance function moves from one project to the next while closing deadlines keep coming. The project is announced late, training arrives after go-live, and teams quietly keep their parallel spreadsheets. A few months later the new tool is only half used.

This three-hour session provides a method designed for the realities of an accounting function. It covers framing the change against the closing calendar, identifying resistance and its real causes, providing support as close as possible to daily tasks, and then verifying that new practices have taken hold.

Learning objectives

  • Frame a change project while taking the closing calendar into account
  • Identify the real causes of resistance within accounting teams
  • Build a support plan linked to day-to-day tasks
  • Select internal champions and define their role clearly
  • Verify that new practices are embedded after go-live

What makes this programme different

The project schedule is tested against closing and reporting deadlines
Resistance is analysed from situations actually experienced by participants
A support plan for the first weeks is drafted during the session
