Description

Employee Benefits: Mapping Schemes, Costing and Trade-Offs

One day to regain control of benefits granted over the years and to measure their real cost

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Benefits have been added one on top of the other through successive agreements and established practice. No one knows their overall cost or the value employees actually place on them. Some schemes are barely used yet weigh heavily on the budget, and a benefit that has become a habit can no longer be withdrawn without friction.

This one-day programme addresses the peripheral elements of remuneration rather than salary policy itself. Participants map the schemes in place, cost the employer contribution, measure actual take-up and prepare trade-offs within a fixed budget. One part of the day covers how to present the whole package to employees so that its value is genuinely perceived.

Learning objectives

  • Map the benefits in place and the contractual or policy basis of each
  • Cost the employer outlay for each scheme and track how it has evolved
  • Measure actual take-up rates and the value perceived by employees
  • Prepare trade-offs between competing schemes within a constant budget
  • Present an employee with their total remuneration in a clear and understandable way

What makes this programme different

A costed inventory built on the actual schemes brought by participants
A constant-budget trade-off exercise played out between competing schemes
An individual total remuneration statement drafted during the session
