Description

Financial Savings: Analysing Products, Switching and Advising Clients

Compare financial savings products and build an allocation suited to the client's profile

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Advisers know their institution's product range but face increasingly well-informed clients: switching between products, the impact of a withdrawal, exposure to risk, investment horizon. Client requests focus less and less on a single product and more and more on the overall consistency of their financial assets.

Two days to deepen your understanding of the main savings vehicles, compare their characteristics and build a well-argued allocation. The cases examined are complete client situations involving liquidity and horizon constraints that are sometimes contradictory.

Learning objectives

  • Compare savings products in terms of risk, liquidity and investment horizon
  • Explain how unit-linked products and investment funds operate
  • Analyse the mechanisms of long-term savings and insurance-based wrappers
  • Build an allocation consistent with the client's profile
  • Explain the effects of a withdrawal or a switch
  • Document the advice given and the reasoning behind it

What makes this programme different

The client cases involve conflicting liquidity and horizon constraints
Proposed allocations are challenged in sub-groups and then decided upon
A client-facing rationale is drafted for each case
