Description

Focus at Work: Limiting Interruptions, Refocusing and Sustaining Attention

Regaining uninterrupted work time in a day fragmented by constant demands

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A full day at the office and the feeling of having finished nothing. Messages arrive, a colleague stops by, an alert pops up, and the substantive file slips back again. Every restart costs time and energy, until the demanding tasks end up being done in the evening or at home.

One day to understand what breaks attention and to regain control. Participants observe their own working day, identify the interruptions they receive and the ones they create, build protected blocks of focused work and learn short refocusing exercises. Each participant leaves with a realistic model week that takes their own environment into account.

Learning objectives

  • Identify received and self-generated interruptions across the working day
  • Organise notifications and communication channels to preserve uninterrupted blocks
  • Break a long task into sequences that match your attention span
  • Apply short refocusing exercises after a break in concentration

What makes this programme different

Personal log of interruptions over a typical working day
A protected model week that can be applied the very next day
