Description
Key Account Sales and Negotiation: Decode, Prepare and Negotiate
A half-day to face the purchasing practices of major accounts with solid preparation
- 0.75 days — 5.25 h
- In-person or virtual
- All levels
- Up to 6 participants
When facing a procurement department, the balance of power is deliberately organised. Systematic competitive bidding, end-of-year discount requests, line-by-line contract discussions. A salesperson who arrives without a quantified view of their room for manoeuvre concedes step by step until the agreement turns unfavourable.
This short 5-hour-15 format focuses on the negotiation meeting itself rather than on how the sales function is organised. Participants decode purchasing tactics, prepare their trade-offs and practise short negotiation sequences.
Learning objectives
- Identify the objectives and constraints of a professional buyer
- Recognise common purchasing tactics and the appropriate response to each
- Prepare your room for manoeuvre and the trade-offs to request
- Conduct a negotiation sequence without granting uncompensated concessions
- Formalise the agreement and prevent renegotiation during the contract term
