Description

Managing a Team Day to Day: Organising, Communicating and Tracking Results

The management practices that structure a working week: objectives, delegation, follow-up and feedback

  • 2.5 days — 17.5 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Leading a team plays out through repeated actions: setting an objective, entrusting an assignment, checking progress, giving feedback. Without a method, these actions happen on the fly: objectives stay vague, delegation amounts to handing out tasks, and the team meeting turns into a round-table discussion that produces no decisions.

This first level covers the foundation of day-to-day management practices, independently of any recent appointment. Over two and a half days, participants work on setting objectives, delegating, conducting follow-up reviews, giving performance feedback and leading the team, using situations they face every week.

Learning objectives

  • Set an individual objective expressed in verifiable terms
  • Delegate an assignment while defining the level of autonomy granted
  • Conduct an activity follow-up review within a limited time
  • Give corrective or positive feedback based on observed facts
  • Lead a team meeting that results in decisions

What makes this programme different

Objectives and delegation briefs are written on real situations brought by participants
Follow-up reviews are practised in groups of three using an observation grid
A weekly team meeting template is built and tested
