Description

Managing by Cash: Forecasting Treasury, Tracking Working Capital and Prioritising Spend

Turning cash into a weekly steering indicator rather than a month-end discovery

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

A profitable company can still run short of cash. Customer payment terms stretch, inventory absorbs margin and statutory payment deadlines fall at the wrong moment. When monitoring stops at the income statement, the warning comes too late and decisions are taken under pressure in front of the bank.

This three-hour session installs a cash-based reading of the business: breaking down working capital requirement, building a rolling forecast, identifying collection levers and selecting the indicators to track. Participants work on real figures and leave with a weekly cash monitoring dashboard.

Learning objectives

  • Break down working capital requirement by operating cycle
  • Build a short-term rolling cash forecast
  • Identify levers to accelerate cash collection
  • Select the cash indicators to monitor每 week
  • Present the treasury position to management and to lenders
