Description

Navigating Change: Understanding Your Reactions, Adjusting and Finding New Footing

Two days to move through a reorganisation actively rather than passively, by understanding your own adaptation stages

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A department is merged, a familiar tool is replaced, a line manager changes. Reactions range from immediate buy-in to silent refusal, and everyone judges everyone else. Without reference points to read what is happening, the period drags on and energy is spent on corridor commentary.

This 14-hour programme focuses on changes that we do not decide ourselves. It describes the adaptation stages commonly observed, helps you locate your own reactions, provides practical ways to handle uncertainty day to day, and looks for the room for manoeuvre that remains even within an imposed framework.

Learning objectives

  • Describe the adaptation stages commonly observed when facing change
  • Locate your own reactions within the course of a transition
  • Distinguish what is imposed from what remains open to initiative
  • Handle uncertainty without fuelling internal rumours
  • Identify the sources of support available in your working environment

What makes this programme different

A focus on imposed change rather than on projects we choose ourselves
Reference points for locating your own reactions and those of colleagues
A systematic search for room for manoeuvre within an imposed framework
