Description

Occupational Health at Work: Identifying Duties, Preventing Risks and Taking Action

Connecting employer duties to the real situations teams encounter day to day

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Occupational health is often handled in bursts: an accident, a fitness-for-work issue, an alert from the occupational physician. Duties are known in broad terms, but mandatory documentation ages and internal stakeholders are unclear about who does what.

These two days restore order to the applicable framework and to each stakeholder's role. Participants learn how to build and maintain a live risk assessment, organise medical surveillance and fitness-for-work situations, and structure a clear prevention plan. Methods are worked through using the situations brought by the group.

Learning objectives

  • Position the employer's duties in matters of health and safety
  • Identify the role of internal and external prevention stakeholders
  • Build and update the occupational risk assessment
  • Organise individual health surveillance for employees
  • Handle a fitness-for-work or job retention situation
  • Formalise a prevention plan and monitor its execution

What makes this programme different

A participant's risk assessment register is reworked live on a real work unit
Fitness-for-work situations are followed through from the physician's opinion to the search for redeployment
A prevention plan template is completed and taken away by each participant
