Description

Owner-Manager Wealth: Balancing Choices, Structuring Ownership and Planning Succession

Treat the owner-manager's personal wealth and the company's assets as one single picture rather than two separate files

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

An owner-manager's wealth is usually concentrated in the business. As long as the company keeps growing, the question is postponed: remuneration is decided as circumstances arise, protection of the spouse is not organised, and succession is only considered once a buyer appears. At that point, the room for manoeuvre closes very quickly.

These two days follow the life cycle of both the company and its owner. Participants carry out a full wealth diagnosis, weigh up remuneration options, structure the ownership of shares and of operating real estate, then prepare either a family handover or a sale.

Learning objectives

  • Produce a diagnosis linking personal wealth and business assets
  • Weigh up remuneration options according to the owner-manager's situation
  • Organise protection for the owner-manager and the family
  • Structure the ownership of shares and of operating real estate
  • Prepare a family handover or a sale to a third party
  • Support the owner-manager in reinvesting proceeds after a sale

What makes this programme different

Decisions are worked through on real owner-manager situations followed from start-up to exit
Every topic is examined both from the company's standpoint and from the private wealth standpoint
Each participant builds a diagnosis interview framework they can reuse with their own clients
