Description

Pay Transparency: Anticipating, Structuring and Communicating Internally

Prepare your organisation to justify every pay differential with objective, documented criteria

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Pay transparency shifts the burden of proof. Candidates increasingly expect to know salary ranges before the interview, and employees are able to compare their situation with that of colleagues performing work of equal value. Yet internal pay structures have often been built up through successive exceptions, and few organisations can explain why two comparable roles are not paid the same.

One day to identify the expectations that are taking shape across the region, then to launch the internal workstreams of job classification and objective pay criteria. Participants leave with a diagnostic review of their pay structure and a phased compliance roadmap.

Learning objectives

  • Identify the transparency principles applicable to recruitment and the employment relationship
  • Analyse the organisation's pay structure in light of work of equal value
  • Build a job classification based on objective criteria
  • Document the pay differentials observed between comparable populations
  • Prepare responses to information requests from candidates and employees
  • Build an action plan with an internal timeline

What makes this programme different

The pay structure diagnostic is carried out on a data extract brought by the participant
A criteria-based classification method is applied to three real jobs
Responses to employee questions on pay differentials are drafted and then tested in the group
