Description

Stepping into Your First Management Role: Settling In, Organising and Leading Your Team

Succeeding in your first months as a manager when you now lead colleagues who were your peers the day before

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Moving from technical expertise to management changes everything, yet nothing is ever formally said. Former colleagues wait and see, while senior management expects results. New managers often continue doing the work they master rather than the role now entrusted to them.

These two days support the transition itself. Participants prepare their first meeting with the team, then learn how to set expectations and conduct their first one-to-one reviews. The programme focuses on the first months, whereas our day-to-day management track is designed for managers already established in the role.

Learning objectives

  • Identify what changes between an expert role and a management role
  • Prepare your transition and your first meeting with the team
  • Set clear expectations from the very first weeks
  • Conduct a first one-to-one review with each team member
  • Handle the sensitive situations created by your change of position

What makes this programme different

A first-weeks action plan built by each participant
